“We are grateful to all our friends and neighbors who turned out for our Feather Bingo night,” said Lion Hazella Veillette, who organized this year’s event with her husband Lion George. “It was a wonderful evening that supported many worthy causes.”

Sight is undoubtedly one of the Lion’s defining causes. The Sanibel Captiva Lions collected thousands of used eyeglasses and readers each year as part of its Recycle for Sight program. The club has long offered complimentary health screenings for adults each season and volunteer their time for many things, including ringing the Salvation Army bell at holiday time.

The upcoming Christmas tree sale has become an intricate part of the club’s fund raising with more than 30 successful years. In it’s 50th year, Lions serve where they live, as well as globally, and continue to have fun doing it. “The Lions Club offers the opportunity to make a difference in your community,” said Club President Lion Bob Kern.

“Thank you to Lions Hazella and George for organizing such a fun Feather Bingo night and collecting the array of prizes,” added Kern. “We also send our appreciation to Sanibel Catering Co. by Bailey’s for providing delicious appetizers and turkey dinner.”

We also extend our gratitude to the following businesses for their prize donation:
